will it blend?

Will it Blend on Random Thoughts

Will It Blend? is a viral marketing campaign consisting of a series of infomercials demonstrating the Blendtec line of blenders, especially the Total Blender.

I decided to share it with you,   as the Face of Blendtec Tom Dickson appeared on Australian TV this morning and attempted to blend a rake with not a lot of joy. The station lost power and all blending came to an abrupt end.

So, I popped on over to the Blendtec sight to take a look at this awesome machine that can blend anything you can possibly think of….. iPhones, glow sticks, golf clubs and even golf balls.  This is one amazing blender ……. I want one!! After a quick visit to the site I soon realised they are not available for sale in Australia. 😦

I can’t purchase a blender however I did find this low carb green drink to start your day…….  Enjoy!!

The Garden Green Giant Juice

You can find the recipe over at the Blendtec website!

keeping it natural

homemade peanut butter

In March this year I had my left breast removed including all the lymph nodes removed under my left arm.  I’m totally clear of all tumors now, however since having such a life threatening scare it tends to make you more conscious of what you are putting into your mouth on a daily basis.

So, these days I’d like to keep it as natural as possible. I’ve always been quite healthy and conscious of what I each and lately I’m attempting to keep it as natural as possible. Fresh is best as they say and my mum recently reminded me of the homemade peanut butter she made when I was a young girl.

I have to be honest I can’t remember it so I’ve found a recipe to test out on my boys. We all love peanut butter to the extent that sometimes we even just have a spoonful.

spoonful of peanut butter

It’s easy to make your own homemade peanut butter if you have a food processor or heavy-duty blender. The flavor of the peanuts really shines through when you make it yourself.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup roasted, unsalted, shelled peanuts
  • 1-1/2 to 3 tablespoons peanut or safflower oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Sugar to taste, optional

Preparation:

Blend in food processor or blender adding just enough oil to make it smooth. You can use salted peanuts and omit the salt, or omit the salt entirely with unsalted peanuts. Add sugar to taste, if desired.

If you want chunky peanut butter, add chopped peanuts after you have made the smooth version.

Store peanut butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use within two weeks.

Yield: about 1-1/2 cups

Peanut butter isn’t that great for the waistline, but as I’m keeping it natural these days…..  and of course, everything in moderation.

Crunchy would have to be my favourite…… how about you…….. crunchy or smooth?

you have one new message

You have one new message | a message from God

Looking down from heaven, I wipe away a few wayward stars to get the perfect view of your little corner of the world. From where I am I see the blues, greens and whites of a palette of painted perfection – I see the majesty of the thing I created oh, so long ago.

And yet, within this beauty and wonder I also see great sadness, those who’ve lost their way, those who live within locked doors with pulled curtains.

Brother against brother. Mother against child.

This world you are living in is far from what I hoped it’d be. The swirls upon swirls of beauty, wonder and colors so clear and vivid . . . I wish it were as beautiful there as it is from here.

But I know it isn’t.

I see the pile of newspapers on your doorstep. It hurts too much to read them. The evening news is something you only watch if you must. It’s hard to see the faces on TV and not instantly connect with them, feeling their pain, weeping for the stranger and knotting your stomach with fear and regret.

It breaks My heart that you have to worry about the stranger who smiles at you. No one should have to wonder the reason behind an unfamiliar smile. I weep to think that your children can’t go for a Sunday stroll on the sidewalk on an adventure to anywhere they please. I hope you find comfort in the fact that in safety and danger – I am always there . . . good times and bad. I’ll never leave you or forsake you.

This world is a darkened place . . . and it’s been that way for a long time.

It’s certainly not what I had in mind. The darkness that has enveloped the world is the reason I had to send the Light. It’s the reason I had to send My child and the reason I had to turn away the day He hung on a hill. It’s never easy to give up that which we love.

The sunshine was no longer enough.

The world required a beacon. The world needed a Savior. No one else would do . . . and I loved you that much. That I’d give up My only Son to die that you might live.

That Light now lives with Me in heaven but He’s left His light within you too. Promise Me that when the world is dark, when times are uncertain and the news is about the scariest thing you can imagine, that you won’t spend your life looking for the wolf outside your window. Instead spend your life looking within. Find your light, be the light and don’t ever let it go out.

I’m counting on you to let your light shine. Big or small. . . through the blues, greens and swirls of white . . . I can pinpoint you from way up here with just one little flicker and you’ll never know what just ONE little flicker can do when it burns bright with faith and the realization that behind every little light . . . there is hope.

-GOD

lie to me | five lies I’m proud of telling my kids

I can’t say I’m proud of the Santa Lie…. I guess it’s just something we do as parents….. but should we?

Daddy Drinks

Parents lie to their children. That’s a fact of life. Some do it better than others, but we all do it. Could you imagine a world where parents were honest with their kids?

“Actually, Timmy, there’s a really, really good chance that you won’t be an astronaut. Considering your complete inability to understand long division, you’re probably going to sell cars when you grow up. Now let’s talk about Santa Claus.”

So we lie. Mostly about the little things. My parents were great at it. The most famous lie my parents ever told their kids happened during a move from Georgia to Texas. My parents told their kids that it was against the law to transport a dog across state lines.

Brilliant. The dog was a pain in the ass, they didn’t want to take him along. I understand this now, and it serves as inspiration for my own suite…

Dancing and Music …….  IT’S UNIVERSAL!!

clayzmama says......

What do all these people have in common?  Dancing!!

We all experience periods of happiness at some time or another and one method of displaying happiness is dancing.  Happiness and dancing transcend political boundaries and occur in practically every human society.  Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, and filmed the result. His video is the latest in a series  of similar videos, is perhaps a dramatic example that people from all over our great planet  feel a common bond as neighbors.

Why can’t we all just get along DANCE???

Happiness is frequently contagious — few people are able to watch Matt’s video without smiling.  Enjoy!
